Fender Apron Repairs Page 2

The reproduction battery tray as it comes originally.

A small interference occurred in the right rear corner of the battery tray where it meets the fender apron.

A few small cuts relieves this interference. Pushing the metal back and welding it up again fixes this problem.

And now the new battery tray fits like it should.

This is a typical area of severe pitting that occured between the fender and the upper part of the fender apron.

We cut out the rusted area.

Make a cardboard template of the patch required.

Transfer that to a piece of scrap steel.

Prepare for welding.

Now the patch is welded in and the weld seam cleaned up.

Add a patch for the overlapping part of the rear apron.

Bend the outside flange down and we are done.
